Teddy Swims Sarasota Concert reviews
Dynamic Musical Duo!!
Fantastic artists and great story-tellers, both of these guys are simply put. Each paint wonderful pictures of Americana in his own unique style. Similar to how Norman Rockwell made extraordinary paintings out of everyday things, these guys are doing the very same thing through the genre of music. Singing about small towns, landscapes, bars, road-trips, families, romantic endeavors, and childhood memories. Teddy Swims lyrically and vocally is sensitive, witty, and dream-like, and without question is a very fine picker of the guitar. He is a true Texan in every sense of the word, gracious to the audience, grateful for how far he has come, never forgetting his roots, and thankful for the long-road traveled. John Hiatt is fun, gritty, and bluesy. Vocally, he is a combination of Van Morrison and Bruce Springsteen, mixed with hints of Joe Cocker and rounded-out with a country edge. By evenings end, it was clear that both of these men love life. They have grabbed it by the horns and have lived it. Thankfully, they enjoy singing about their impressions of life here in America and their daily adventures.
